With his physical therapist yesterday
Yesterday, I found Kim to be somewhat disoriented and not processing information well. He did do his physical therapy exercises but his performance was much below that of the day before. Today, however, I found him sitting on his chair, totally disoriented, and just looking like a zombie. He was unable to follow any of the commands of the physical therapist so she decided to stop the session.
Over the years, since Kim’s last TBI, I’ve learned that when he behaves this way he’s ill or, most likely, has an infection going. Brains of people who have suffered TBIs or of people with Demetia or Alzheimers are very much affected by any infection. Surely, after I took him out for a wheelchair ride in the sunny parking lot, brought him to his room, and got him in bed, they gave him a COVID test. He was positive this time even though they had been testing him daily.
I have now been fully exposed! Therefore, I’m quarantining myself and praying I don’t get it. I’m hoping that lots of garlic, lime juice, salt, and all the sun I got while gardening this afternoon helps me keep COVID away 🙏. Thankfully, I’m fully vaccinated and so is Kim.
Kim has been moved to the COVID wing of the facility which seems to be growing by leaps and bounds after the first infection was detected in the facility about 3 weeks ago.
