Kim came home on March 14 after a difficult 3- week stay in the hospital. The effects of the chemotherapy could be clearly seen – pale complexion, extreme weakness, unsteadiness.
The first oncologist who saw Kim in January, when a routine 6-month check up showed that many of his CBC ( complete blood count) measures were very off, told us that the patients get weaker and weaker as the never-ending treatments proceed. As shown in a earlier post, most patients Kim’s age, on the same treatment he’s having, live about 2-2.5 years. Our hope is that the treatments do prolong his life and that the quality of his life is acceptable.
